The new Bushnell Holosight, a device that works on holographic technology helps hunters focus a clear and accurate aim on their target, but at the same time, not startle their targets with a tell-tale red beam. This device is battery operated, and unlike most other conventional devices, will not compromise its accuracy due to a low battery. When the battery is low, the device warns the user with a flickering reticle pattern, especially during the recoil. Thus the quality of the image the hunter sees is not compromised and at the same time, he gets the message.

There are 2 types of devices, based on the type of batteries they use. The 51-0021 model is powered by 2 N type 1.5 volt alkaline batteries. Hunters are recommended to use EverReady Energiser batteries for this model in cold weather, for best results. Use of a 12V battery that is very similar to the 1.5V N Type severely damages one's sight. The 520021 model, on the other hand, needs 2 AA type 1.5V alkaline batteries. While Lithium AA batteries are ideal for cold temperatures, NiMH rechargeable batteries are the most cost effective in the long run, although they might need to be charged more often than others. Hunters are advised to charge their batteries before they set out, and adding some spare batteries to their kit may not be a bad idea.

One of the best features of this wonder device is the Auto-shutdown. The device will automatically shut itself off 8 hours after the last push-button control action. This helps hunters conserve their battery power, especially during long stakeouts and special hunting trips that take days. The Bushnell Holosight Device is a very well designed hunting tool, and is extremely affordable. Its ease of use and high precision aim is one of the main reasons of its popularity. Even novice hunters, who may not have much knowledge, will be able to operate the device easily, and find it like a guardian angel.
