What's On His Mind? - Ways To Get Your Man To Open Up

Do you often look at him and wonder what's on his mind?  Are you afraid he might be thinking of someone else, or pondering your relationship?  Do you think he's hiding something from you and you need to know what it is?  If guys could strike out one question that girls are often asking it would be, ‘What are you thinking about?'  Sometimes it almost seems as if it's a natural reflex for the girl to just ask that, even when there's no reason to.  But for the guy, it quickly becomes a pain.

Too a large extent, guys aren't really thinking of anything too profound or interesting.  What they want to eat.  The game they missed.  Their buddy who owes them five bucks.  The guy at work who took a sick day for nothing.  And that's just some of the more interesting things going on in their mind.

If you feel there is more going on, don't insist he spit it out.  Your nagging will only aggravate the situation.  Give him time to sort things out on his own.  It may be a problem that has nothing to do with you and he's just not comfortable discussing it.

Instead, let him know that you are prepared to hear him out should he ever want to talk about it.

If this is a frequent thing with him, you might want to look at how you've reacted to his declarations in the past.  His reluctance to tell you what he's thinking may be because he knows the kind of reaction he'll get from you.

Has he told you of trouble at work and you dismissed it?  Does he try to tell you to correct a particular flaw you have and you deny having such a flaw?  Do you reprimand and scold him every time he admits to having made a mistake or forgotten something?

Be more receptive to whatever he may have to say to you, good or bad.  This will ensure a healthier relationship and will keep the lines of communication always open.  You won't ever have to ask him what he's thinking because he'll always feel free to just come out and say whatever's on his mind.
