Many hobbyists stand by their military binoculars. The quality of build is second-to-none. Many people who aspire to own them however are overwhelmed by their options. There are a plethora of options available and it is easy to get bogged down by the abundance of information. Russian military binoculars have acquired an excellent reputation in recent years. There are several reasons behind this.
The gold standard for military binoculars has been German manufacturers. A lot of this is because of the country's reputation for excellent quality. While there is no question that German binoculars are great, the question is how much of the supposed advantage is real and whether they offer good value. For example, there are many American and Japanese cars that are just as good as a Mercedes or BMW. But the German car manufacturers are able to still charge a hefty premium because of the halo of "Made in Germany".
Russian products suffer the exact opposite type of reputation. Because of several factors (amongst them alack of high profile products and unflattering portrayals in Hollywood movies), Russia is not able to charge a premium for its products like Germany. This is unfortunate, as the country has many excellent engineers and has a long and established history of military excellence. However, for savvy hobbyists this means there is an opportunity to purchase an excellent product at an amazing price.
Those with a budget in mind should also look out for surplus binoculars. After the cold war ended, both superpowers shrunk their armies significantly. This means there is a lot of extra used equipment that is no longer in use. Buying them refurbished is another way to save a lot of money. Be sure to do additional research though as there are some potential pitfalls. Namely scam artists and binoculars of poor quality.
Buying a pair of military binoculars can be an overwhelming experience. To learn more, read about why people buy them and steiner binoculars.

Magalia to Stirling City $24.69 The West Branch of the Feather River in northern Butte County was once a rich mining region. In 1859, an incredible 54pound gold nugget washed from the flanks of Sawmill Peak, named for the ridges other main industry, logging. An intricate web of stage roads, and later railroads, linked the little mining and lumber towns that dotted these peaks covered in giant white and ponderosa pine. Steam engines hauled huge logs to mills like the Diamond Match Company, crossing steep canyons on wooden trestles stretched to heartstopping heights. Some early mining towns like Magalia (once known as Dogtownsite of the gargantuan nugget) and Stirling City, are still there. Others like Nimshew, Lovelock, Toadtown, Powellton, Chaparral, Coutelenc, and Inskip, are ghost towns, inhabiting only the photographs that memorialize their short heyday.
