Litetronics Releases New High Watt Compact Fluorescents

The lighting company Litetronics has been busy lately, as evidenced by their recent release of new high watt compact fluorescent light bulbs and cold cathode CFLs. The high watt standard compact fluorescents go up to 150 watts and are perfect for a variety of applications including industrial, gymnasium, and warehouse/factories. The cold cathode compact fluorescents released are also high watt, but in relative terms. 15 watts may not sound very high, but in a cold cathode CFL it is currently the maximum wattage available in a dimmable CCFL.

Back to the high watt standard compact fluorescent light bulbs. Litetronics has changed their high watt CFLs by not including the ballast in the base of the bulb. The compact fluorescents we're all probably used to have the ballast built in to the base, which makes it easier for average consumers to make use of the light bulbs. Litetronics' separate ballast approach creates some nice benefits for the end user. For one thing, the light bulb's cost is lowered because there is no integrated ballast. Ballasts usually last longer than the light bulbs to which they are connected, so it doesn't make sense to have to buy a new ballast every time a CFL goes out. In this case, you don't have to; replace the failed bulb and keep the separate ballast for the replacement.

The other light bulbs released by Litetronics are smaller, low watt bulbs. The wattage is low at first sight, but when compared to other dimmable cold cathode compact fluorescents, it turns out it is quite high indeed. 15 watts is very high for a cold cathode CFL with GU24 base (pin base). The 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite CCFL is perfact for restaurants and theaters. The other relative high watt cold cathode CFL is the 11-watt Micro-Brite BR30 flood light. It is the only dimmable 11-watt BR30 flood cold cathode compact fluorescent light bulb on the market, and is also ideal for restaurants and theaters.

Litetronics is certainly poised to take over certain niche markets with these new releases. 150 watt compact fluorescent light bulbs can affect some great change in schools and large businesses. It's up to the business and school owners of course to implement new light bulbs in any case.
